a5c7b9f00b John Drake is a special operative for M19, specialising in security assignments against any subversive element which threatened world peace. The lid show made Saturday evening a treat. Not only for the great opening sound track by JOHNNY Rivers, but the creative exploits of the main character John Drake. At the time it followed the spy craze created by the 2 James Bond movies made just prior to the show's debut, Dr. No and From Russia With Love. What made this show differentwell was several years after it went off the air on CBS, a spin off series was crest called "The Prisoner". The show gained rave reviews during a ST run. It picked on what happens to John Drake after he quits the British Secret Service.. Somewhat dated but still both shows are exciting TV fare. The only TV series I watch are old ones, either on TV or on library copies. Perry Mason, Rockford Files (my favorite), The Third Man, Magnum PI, Cheers, Wings, Route 66, Twilight Zone, Gunsmoke, Have Gun ,Will Travel (second favorite), Flash Gordon (just kidding, but Ming The Merciless was a great villain) The Saint and Secret Agent. Im trying to find Miami Vice and 77 Sunset Strip. Id rather watch Nazi Megaweapons than new TV series. I saw The Saint and Secret Agent when originally on but only recalled that they were excellent. I'm now amazed by their high quality. The directing on the 30 minute, Secret Agent series is so tight that it squeaks. Along w/The Saint, a very satisfying, intelligent drama. Perry Mason is so well done that even when the first half doesn't have Mason, it is still excellent. OK. No big plug for HULU, but I did start watching the series there for that I'm thankful. Anyhow the show has a four part formula. 1. The mission or assignment. 2. Identify bad guys. 3. Introduce the femme fatale 4. beat up the bad guys/out smart them.(excellent writing by the way)

(Man!!)The fights scenes are layered with 6 to 10 seconds of jazz riffs, it brings a cool intensity to the fights. Standard fight scenes for the 60's(body doubles etc…)basic fight choreography, but I love the music!!

"Drake, John Drake"
